BBQ Pork

I love BBQ pork and I wanted to see how well I could make my own.

Ingredients:

  • 0.75-1 lb pork tenderloin, unsliced
  • 2 TB sake
  • 2 TB soy sauce
  • 2 TB brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 TB hoisin sauce
  • 0.5 tsp 5-spice powder
  • 2 TB honey, and more to glaze

Instructions:

  1. Mix sake, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, hoisin sauce, and 5-spice powder together
  2. Marinate tenderloin for 2-3 hours in the fridge
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (adjust temperature to your oven)
  4. Grease roasting pan with canola oil and place tenderloin into pan
  5. Glaze remaining marinade over one side of the pork before putting into oven
  6. After 20 minutes, flip over and glaze other side of pork with the marinade
  7. After another 20 minutes, flip and glaze with honey for 10 minutes
  8. When that’s done, glaze the other side with honey for another 10 minutes
  9. Remove from oven and let it cool, then slice it
