I was going to make an exact replica of the terrible risotto that I had yesterday at work but my asparagus was no longer fresh so I threw it away and Whole Foods is closed today for Christmas. By the way, Merry Xmas!
I didn’t do a very good job at stocking my fridge for the [...]

Tiramisu Cups
This is my fourth tiramisu post and my own creation. I mashed up 60 lady fingers with 1 cup of dark coffee and 0.25 cup coffee liqueur using a potato masher. I then scooped the lady fingers paste into the bottom of a glass and then topped with the mascarpone mixture. For a finishing touch, [...]

肉丸蒿子杆乌冬面
I’ve been eating a lot of udon noodles lately, A LOT! Tonight, I decided to make the regular meatball + Garland chrysanthemum leaves soup but with udon noodles! I was too lazy to wait for the rice to cook.
[Ground pork is 100% organic]
Ingredients:
Half bunch of serrated Garland chrysanthemum
0.5 lb ground pork
2 TB corn starch
1 TB [...]

Roasted Cinnamon Pecans
You know at Whole Foods the really good nibble food are always so expensive! Roasted nuts for $22/pound, and chocolate truffles for $2.99 each, etc… I woke up this morning feeling “toasty”. It’s because I left the heater on at a higher setting than what I usually set it to.
[100% organic]
Ingredients:
1 egg, white only
1 tsp [...]

Panko Coconut Shrimp
Costco sells coconut shrimp in a package in the frozen aisle. I don’t think their shrimp is all that great but it comes with two packets of a really good yummilicious spicy mango sauce.
I failed on my own version of the spicy and sweet mango sauce. FAIL. Wasted two mangoes :[ and wasted $6.
[100% organic [...]

I only started using shallots since November of this year. To me, they look like red onions in garlic form. Mo sent me an article a few days ago about ten things every cook should do in his/her kitchen and using shallots, lots and lots of shallots was one of the ten things.
Are shallots special [...]

Prosciutto Wrapped Broccolini
You know what? I don’t understand why I like some bitter foods but not others. I love eating Chinese broccoli, very dark chocolate, rapini, serrated Garland Chrysanthemum, and broccolini (sweet & bitter), but not bitter melon. Whatever. Anyway, broccolini is a cross between broccoli and Chinese broccoli.
I always see recipes that are prosciutto wrapped asparagus [...]

For my special dinner tonight, I just have to have shrimp. With all the waiting for the potato soup and chicken, there was plenty enough time to chop up the rosemary into my fine pieces.

Ingredients:
2 twigs of rosemary
2 TBS lemon zest
Lemon juice
1 TB olive oil
Salt
14-15 shrimp, peeled
Instructions:

I never really liked lobster because it looks like a giant shrimp and for $8, I can only eat 1 lobster tail but for $8, I can eat 32 shrimp. Quantity isn’t just the only reason. In restaurants in Hong Kong, they always cook it with spaghetti and cheese or in a simple garlic sauce. [...]
