Kebabs

14Nov09

I had leftover chicken breast, tuna, and random vegetables. So I made kebabs. Here are them raw:

[100% organic, wild Yellowfin Tuna]
Ingredients:

Red bell pepper
Red onion
Yellow zucchini squash
Green zucchini
Chicken breast
Yellowfin/ahi tuna

After the shrimp bisque, I’ve been dying to use my blender for another bisque. Crab meat is expensive and so is lobster so I settled for shrimp again. But I bought a pound of prawns to use instead and some cherrystone clams.
[100% organic & wild]
Ingredients:

4 large cloves garlic, roasted
3 TB olive oil
2 TB butter [...]

I wasn’t planning on making this today, I was just going to cook it the old Chinese way but at the last minute I searched on Taste Spotting for a recipe and came across this one. Luckily I had all the ingredients at home so I was all set!
[100% organic & environmentally responsible aquaculture farmed [...]

I am always very curious to see how lamb dishes turn out. I never bought organic carrots before – they are TINY and super thin.

Ingredients:

1 lb lean ground lamb
2 TB olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, diced
5 cloves garlic, minced
4 large ribs celery, chopped
4 carrots, chopped
3 TB tomato paste
One 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes

Ok, I’m a little bit sick of pasta. I will continue my pasta cravings tomorrow or Sunday. I’ve been looking for a recipe for my leftover corn meal from the polenta pizza I made on 2/23/09. And what do I love to eat? Shrimp!
It’s kind of ugly but your taste buds will be blown away!! [...]

After a hard day at work, I was too exhausted to cook but I had to cook something for dinner. So I cooked the most simple thing I could think of (and what I had in my fridge).

[100% organic, wild clams & wild Gulf Atlantic shrimp]
Ingredients:

2 TB olive oil
1 TB butter
Half a medium onion, diced
5-6 [...]

This is my third attempt at making soondubu jjigae and I am satisfied with it. The first two times, I made the spicy level to “suicidal nuclear explosion” which made it almost impossible to eat. This time I made it mild and I finally used the dried kelp I brought over from Hong Kong. I [...]

I need to go grocery shopping. I just came home from MCAT class and I did not want fast food or restaurant to-go food. I had a semi-frozen mahi-mahi fillet in my fridge so I decided to jumble whatever I could out of the ingredients I had in my kitchen.

[100% organic & wild]
Ingredients:

0.25 cup miso [...]

I had some live mussels and a packet of linguine at home so I made this:

[100% wild and organic]
Ingredients:

EVOO
5 garlic cloves, diced
1 large onion, chopped
1 can of 28 oz. diced tomatoes
1-3 TB red pepper flakes (I like it very spicy)
1 tsp ground black pepper
3 tsp dried basil
3 tsp dried oregano
2 lbs mussels
0.5 cup white wine
1 [...]

This is my first adaptation of a New York Times recipe. Needless to say, NYT is my homepage and I saw this recipe almost a week ago and it just looked so good that I had to try it.

[100% organic]
Ingredients:

EVOO
0.5 cup milk, preferably whole (I used skim milk because I refuse to drink whole milk)
2 [...]

It’s been awhile since I’ve had homecooked pasta so I made my arrabiata sauce again, adding mushrooms, spinach, and minced pork. I love using Thai basil so I substituted that for the regular sweet basil. I ran out of red wine (not even 0.25 cups) so I used white wine for the remaining 0.75 cups.

[100% [...]
