I love the fries at Enoteca Vespaio! Enoteca is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin and I used to go every week but since two summers ago, they raised their prices and decreased portions. I would always get the fries if I ordered their pizzas or panini.
For some reason, I was salivating for them [...]

I had some leftover corn meal from the ugly creamy polenta dish last time and I found another recipe that involved polenta and shrimp. I already loved the taste of it when it was still cooking.
I love it. It’s so delicious and it’s not too heavy either with all the cheese, corn meal, and milk. [...]

I never really liked lobster because it looks like a giant shrimp and for $8, I can only eat 1 lobster tail but for $8, I can eat 32 shrimp. Quantity isn’t just the only reason. In restaurants in Hong Kong, they always cook it with spaghetti and cheese or in a simple garlic sauce. [...]

I bought an indoor grill pan today so I’m really excited to make grilled dishes! I have so many things to make, including kebabs!
I was going to add mango into my salsa but Whole Foods was out, so it’s just avocado.
[100% organic & wild]
Ingredients:

Mahi-Mahi fillet
1 TB olive oil, for brushing over the fish
2-3 ripe avocado, [...]

I wasn’t planning on making this today, I was just going to cook it the old Chinese way but at the last minute I searched on Taste Spotting for a recipe and came across this one. Luckily I had all the ingredients at home so I was all set!

I always see this dish in restaurants but I never ordered it before. The recipe that I found asked for pancetta but I used prosciutto – Whole Foods was out of pancetta! How is that possible?!

[100% organic]
Ingredients:

0.5 lb spaghetti
0.5 lb prosciutto (sliced 0.25-inch thick), cut into lardons
4 large eggs
1 TB garlic, minced
1 cup Pecorino Romano [...]

After a hard day at work, I was too exhausted to cook but I had to cook something for dinner. So I cooked the most simple thing I could think of (and what I had in my fridge).

[100% organic, wild clams & wild Gulf Atlantic shrimp]
Ingredients:

2 TB olive oil
1 TB butter
Half a medium onion, diced
5-6 [...]

One day I randomly read about Bagna Càuda on Wikipedia and the picture associated with the description answered all my questions about those funny looking things that I see at Sur La Table every time. Traditionally, Bagna Càuda is made with garlic, anchovies, olive oil, and butter. I added my own touches with prosciutto and [...]

I’ve been looking forward to today since last Sunday. I’ve had 4 exams this past week, MCAT classes, and I have a practice MCAT exam tomorrow. So I’ve been really tired and going out to eat a lot. I barely cooked at home during this past week; I had dinner at home on Wednesday night.

[100% [...]

I woke up from my nap and suddenly craved for KFC/fried chicken. I rarely eat fried stuff but the craving was too strong to resist so I finally decided to make a chicken recipe that I’ve been saving.

[100% organic]
Ingredients:

6 large or 12 small chicken drum sticks
4-6 cloves of garlic, peeled
2 cups chopped flat leaf parsley [...]

It’s been awhile since I’ve had homecooked pasta so I made my arrabiata sauce again, adding mushrooms, spinach, and minced pork. I love using Thai basil so I substituted that for the regular sweet basil. I ran out of red wine (not even 0.25 cups) so I used white wine for the remaining 0.75 cups.

[100% [...]
