锅贴

Filling:

Ground pork (organic)
Napa cabbage
Garlic chives
Soy sauce
Hoison sauce
Ginger
Green onions
Corn starch
Sesame oil
1 beaten up egg
1 tsp five-spice powder

Instructions can be found on the Hun Tun/Wonton post. Basically everything is the same, just different shapes, folds, fillings, and cooking method. When 饺子 (jiaozi/gyoza) are boiled, they are know as the regular name “饺子 (jiaozi/gyoza)” but when they are [...]

This is my third attempt at making soondubu jjigae and I am satisfied with it. The first two times, I made the spicy level to “suicidal nuclear explosion” which made it almost impossible to eat. This time I made it mild and I finally used the dried kelp I brought over from Hong Kong. I [...]

I LOVE eating baby back ribs. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I usually make them Chinese-style in two ways; one with dark + light soy sauce, and the other with Chinese vinegar (black) + brown sugar.
This is a sweeter adaptation of the Korean-style ribs. This way of cooking keeps the ribs moist so it’s not going [...]

I need to go grocery shopping. I just came home from MCAT class and I did not want fast food or restaurant to-go food. I had a semi-frozen mahi-mahi fillet in my fridge so I decided to jumble whatever I could out of the ingredients I had in my kitchen.

[100% organic & wild]
Ingredients:

0.25 cup miso [...]

馄饨
I love eating dumplings and bigger props if they’re homemade but I don’t have the time/luxury to make my own wrappers though. I love having shrimp in the filling but tonight I only made it with ground pork, napa cabbage, and garlic chives.

[100% organic]
Ingredients:

Wonton wrappers (they’re square-shaped. Circles are for 饺子/jiaozi/potstickers/gyoza)
Soy sauce
Salt
Sesame oil
Any vegetable you [...]

Ok, I’m not a professional chef and I don’t have special instruments to make my food look pretty. My adaptation of the following doesn’t look nice but it was so tasty! I also made it with Atlantic salmon. I made the tartare with equal parts of fish and avocado.

[Wild & 100% organic]
Ingredients:

Sashimi grade ahi [...]

葱油饼
I’ve been eating green onion pancakes since I was born. I don’t like how restaurants make them so oily and burnt. I like the way my mother makes them. You can also buy them pre-made (frozen) in Chinese supermarkets but they are very thin and do not taste very good.

[100% organic]
Ingredients:

3.75 cups flour, sifted
2 tsp [...]

Originally, I was only going to make salad with celery, pine nuts, and a tiny bit of chili sesame oil. But I didn’t have pine nuts so I added:
[100% organic, wild scallops from Mexico & environmentally responsible aquaculture farmed shrimp]
Ingredients:

Half of a large apple, chopped into small pieces
10 bay scallops
6 large shrimp
Dried blueberries
Pecans
Cashews
Sliced almonds
6 oz [...]

豆苗叉燒麵
This is another rendition of “meat” on noodles with “vegetable”. Every time when I leave the Chinese supermarket, if I remember, I buy 1-2lbs of BBQ pork. If I could, I would eat BBQ every day and wouldn’t get sick of it.

You can buy BBQ pork in Austin in 2 restaurants: First Chinese BBQ (10901 [...]

芥蘭扇貝麵
A very simple dish you can eat is this:
08.23.08
It is extremely easy to make. It takes only 20 minutes. You can put any type of vegetable with it. I only dipped the Chinese broccoli in boiling water for 5-10 seconds. The center of the scallops will probably be a little raw but that’s how I [...]
